- Fix both speakers' roles in the first two lines: the main-purpose answer is usually settled in the first ten seconds.
- Rejected plans get said out loud, so note which one is agreed to last; the wrong answers are the earlier proposals.
- Keep notes in two columns, one per speaker; a single column loses who wanted what, which is what gets asked.
- Mark attitude with a plus or minus as you listen, since the harder items ask what a speaker meant, not what they said.
